Jon Curley was born and raised in Massachusetts and currently lives in New York City. He has published five poetry collections: Remnant Halo (2021), Scorch Marks (2017), Hybrid Moments (2015), Angles of Incidents (2012) and New Shadows (2009). In 2024, his collection The Installation of Fear will appear.

He is the author of Poets and Partitions: Confronting Communal Identities in Northern Ireland (2011) and is co-editor of The poetry and Poetics of Michael Heller: A Nomad Memory (2015) with Burt Kimmelman. He also edited a previously unpublished story by Italian anarchist Bartolomeo Vanzetti, Events and Victims.
Curley is a Senior University Lecturer of Humanities at New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, New Jersey. He teaches literary and cultural studies, and is especially devoted to the art, literature, and culture of Newark, home of his mentor, the late activist and artist Amiri Baraka.
